Behringer ddx3216 software

Hi, this is my first post on this forum. I'm thinking of building my own studio within the next year or so. I've been looking around, and everything is so damn expensive. Mixer: I've found the 'BEHRINGER DDX3216' which seems to be in my price range, as I would like to have a digital mixer. That being said, I have owned a DDX3216 for the last 6 months, and must admit that I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase. Hate Behringer or not, the DDX has equal or better sound vs. The 01v96, although it only goes to 48K. It has much better features (including individual meters). Jun 10, 2010 So download the DDX3216 File Exchange software and the latest version of the DDX3216 firmware. Unzip the files into one directory on your pc. Run DDX3216 File Exchange Use 'Configuration' to let your pc find the DDX. (choose com or MIDI) You'll see 4 windows in this program. Find the directory in which you've put the files in the upper right. Music Mixer Behringer ddx3216 user's manuals in pdf. Table of Contents Add to my manuals Add. Ultimate 5-channel digital dj mixer with sampler, 4 fx sections, dual bpm counters and midi 30 pages. Ultimate 5-channel digital dj mixer with sampler, 4 fx sections, dual bpm counters and midi 21 pages. Unfortunately, though, the DDX3216 File Exchange software — a file librarian for this and other kinds of bulk mixer data — is available for Windows only, not Macintosh. You can also do updates through the PC Card slot, so one work-around is to find a Windows machine with a PC Card writer.

Hey all,
So.. i've been blessed to be the recipient of a Behringer DDX3216. It was a random gift to me. My cousin had one lying around... still boxed, never opened, still in the freakin plastic. (Don't tease me about Behringer products please lol... 1) this is a gift... and 2) if you do some searching on this particular unit, it actually gets good reviews from those who've used it... it gets the job done).
Anyway... I'm already happy w/ my interface, so i'm not looking to replace it. But since it's now in my position, I figured I might as well try my best to incorporate it in my workflow somehow so this beast of a machine doesn't sit and collect dust. I plan to use it as a controller, as additional inputs, and lastly as a controller for my software mixer.
I've got it setup in S1 finally. It took me a while to figure out how to tell the Behringer to send MIDI to S1. S1 is now receiving the MIDI for all of the faders and rotaries. The rotary response sucks ass in S1 lol.. but i'm not too concerned w/ this. The biggest issue I've encountered is getting the faders to start flying. I can't figure out how to set this up.
I'm very familiar w/ S1. And I know that you can tell S1 to send midi to the DDX3216 in the Control Surface setup. But the weird thing is that the DDX3216's fader receive MIDI when I tell S1 it's a HUI instrument. But when I set it up as New instrument from scratch... the faders don't move. I would just use the HUI mode... but the fader fights me when I move it for one, and secondly the software mixer tracks are not assigned correctly to the corresponding hardware fader. S1 mixer track 2 is linked to DDX3216 track 1 in HUI mode lol. WHAT THE HECK.
Anybody have a little experience in setting up their digital mixer? HUI mode would be very nice to run this is since I wouldn't have to keep assigning faders as I add tracks in S1. But i'd be just fine with mapping the mixer myself if I could just get the faders to fly properly.
Any help? This is new territory for me. I don't know what I'm doing. I do research of course... but help from someone who knows a little bit more than me would really save me a few weeks of pain and agony.
Thanks S1 fam!!

UPDATE:
So... I've got this board almost working in HUI mode, which I really want to get it working. I like the fact that in HUI mode you can add the tracks as you go and the faders automatically become assigned. Nice.
So... I had to go into the HUI template in S1 and do some serious editing to get them to work. Had to reassign a lot of variables. Took a few hours of trial and error. I've got them finally working.. technically. The correct software fader responds to the correct mixer fader. However.. there must be a loop somewhere (either in the HUI template, or in the DAW itself). The mixer is receiving MIDI correctly... but when I send MIDI info to the DAW by moving the mixer fader... i get some bad resistance. So... that tells me that as I move the fader... somewhere, somehow MIDI out is going to the mixer.
Also.. i'm having difficulty getting faders 9 and up to work. I have to figure out the correct assignment for those and put it in the HUI template. And... only the mute buttons send midi... not the solo. That's a pretty stupid design flaw by Behringer. Not sure if the fireware update fixes this or not... but w/ my luck, it probably wont.
Lastly... the pan pots and jumping as all hell, to the point their unuseable. Hopefully I can fix that. Not sure if that's out of my league, but i'ma try
Once I fix all (or some) of things... i'm going to upload the HUI file here. That way.. if someone comes across this board and wants to use it... they can (at least w/ Studio One... not sure if the HUI template would work elsewhere.)

Send me an email with the xml file and I'll take a stab at resolving the issues you mention, jghillman@presonus.com. There's a few tricks to get this working, not to mention there's always particular weird things with any surface.

You basically can interface from that mixer to your PC in various ways: analog to line-in of regular PC soundcard or digital via ADAT- or TDIF-board to a PC card that accepts ADAT resp. Software: You may want to use Sonar if you need all the bells and whistles - that's for you to decide based on what you want to do. If you would tell us more about it. Elicenser Serial Number Not Unique. That Turtle Beach card is for gamers and watching DVDs - better not use it for a music PC (e.g.

Max sample rate 48k, driver quality.). Sorry - you may not like my answer. Maybe there's a cheaper way out there. But I don't know of it. You need an interface on the computer to bring in the TDIF signals. The cheapest one I know would be the MOTU 2408 interface. If you get one of the older versions from ebay, its not as expensive - but you are limited to 48kHz.

I don't know if the behr will send 96kHz signals on the TDIF. If you don't care, its not too bad -- except the older MOTU interfaces use a PCI card which doesn't work with all computers. The newer interfaces are great - and the newer PCI card (424) works well across just about every system, but its about a grand for the interface.

It gives you 24 channels of TDIF in and out - along with 8 channels of analog in and out. You can only use 24 at a time, choosable in banks of 8 channels.

You can hang up to 4 2408 units off of the single PCI card. 2 external 2408 boxes would give you the full 32 channels of TDIF from the behr combined with 16 analog channels. Along with the interface you need software for the computer. Download Gtk For Xamarin there.

Yes, Sonar is an excellent choice. ORIGINAL: wizardjon I am a newbie and would like to ask some questions before buying more equipment & software. I have a Behringer DDx3216 mixer w/2 tdif interface cards.

I have built a fast PC with 600 GB of storage and a fast video card. I am running a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz Sound card. I am confused about interfacing to my PC. (what type of sound card I need, What software Sonar?, and cabling) I would be greatful for any help or advice Thanks The mixer could be usefull for monitoring while you track but when you use a PC to do music production you no longer need a mixer. While it might be possible to create a digital interface to the PC, that creates all kinds of problems and limitations.

Also, digital audio interfaces like TDIF, ADAT, SPDIF, and AES/EBU are all non error checking. Using them also limits you to one sample rate clock for all the gear including the mixer and sound card. Unless you want to spend a lot of time and money becoming an expert at digital audio interfaceing only to find out there is little or no adavantage, I think you should spend your money on the best quality sound card you can get that has analog inputs so you can record directly to the PC. Sonar has unlimited effects and automation for mixing power so there is no need for a mixer for mixdown. Once you get the sound in your PC through the purest path possible it should not leave untill the song is finished and burned to CD. Determine how many tracks you would need to record at once and make sure the sound card has enough.

Many have a software mixer included to montior while recording so again, your mixer might not even be needed at all. The best quality sound I've been able to find in a computer sound card is the Lynx line of cards.
